Romania, Czech Republic, Slovenia and Sweden, the largest increase in construction work in the EU, in December

Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Sweden registered the largest increase in construction work in the 27 EU Member States in December, compared to the similar period of 2018, according to data released by the European Statistics Office (Eurostat) on Wednesday. Construction works decreased by 2.6% in the EU and 3.7% in the euro area in December, compared to the similar period of 2018. The most significant advance was reported in Romania (23.1%), the Czech Republic (6 , 2%), Slovenia and Sweden (both with 2.9%), and the most significant decreases were in Belgium (minus 6.5%), Spain (minus 6.2%) and Poland (minus 5.5%) ).
