Romania had the largest annual growth of retail trade in the European Union in January, according to data published by the European statistical office, Eurostat. The growth rate of retail trade rose for the second month in a row, reaching 11%. Romania returned to the top position in December after, in November, it had been overtaken by Hungary, depending on the evolution of retail trade, going down for the first time in 5 months.
