The law amending the Labor Code aimed at sanctioning with a fine from 1,500 lei to 3,000 lei in the case of overtime provided by employees was promulgated on Thursday by President Klaus Iohannis, according to a statement from the Presidency. The main change is that fines will be granted for each employee who exceeds the number of overtime hours provided by law, compared to the current situation in which the fine was granted to the employer, regardless of the number of employees working overtime more than allowed by law. The new law enters into force 3 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
